Outreach

Beyond Our Walls

There is a world waiting on us to bring the hope and love of Jesus to them. At Cloverhill Church, we have a few areas we have zoned in as ways we want to be a part of the change in our community.

I Love My City

We are passionate about serving our community. On the second Saturday of every month, Cloverhill partners with different organizations to love on those around us. We believe that as we serve our city, God will change it.

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

  • Upcoming Dates:

Extreme Church Makeovers is sponsored by Potomac Men's Ministries and believes no church should have to suffer through dilapidated building issues by themselves or a pastor work to do repairs and remodeling alone. These are intensive projects that seek to assist and enable the local church to fulfill its God-given goal to reach the lost in their communities. Whether you can come for a day or for the week, we are always in need! For more information and to sign up visit potomacmen.org/extreme-church-makeover

If you sign up and would like to carpool for an upcoming trip, email Chesley Delans at chesley.delans@gmail.com

  • RVA Hope Center (Shine Saturday) meets in Creighton and Mosby Courts to love on the community through activities which typically consists of games, sports, arts/crafts, reading enrichment, encouraging messages/devotions, fun and fitness, food, friendship, and fellowship.

In addition, it may look like walking beside families, offering prayer and encouragement, providing practical support, and helping them see and walk in the promises and plans God has for them.

Another outreach opportunity through RVA Hope is Freedom.

Freedom outreach (Princess Nights) and intervention strategies include reaching people where they are, building relationships by providing practical care and frequent in-person interaction, and offering opportunities for prayer, worship and hearing God’s Word. It is characterized by honor, humility, boldness, truth, authenticity, and the unconditional love of Christ.

Freedom is about reaching and loving women and children who are involved in or at-risk of being sexually exploited/trafficked in the Richmond Metro Area. We believe that transformation, healing, and freedom can happen within the context of relationship – a relationship with Christ and others who want the best for them.

  • Cloverhill has been given the opportunity by Chesterfield’s Department of Social Services to launch a program creating our very own Foster Network to provide care and support to those who are involved in this initiative. The Network is set up to help foster families succeed.

3 ways you can be involved

    1.  Be a foster family.

    2.  Be a respite family that acts as aunts and uncles to these children.

    3.  Be a support mentor which helps with the various needs of foster families.

With your help, the Cloverhill Foster Network can be part of the solution. The families right here in our church can make a difference!

  • Each Fall we get the opportunity to host the Manchester Varsity Football Team for their pregame meal here in our gathering hall. Almost one hundred players are here in our facility and we have the chance to feed them and share a short devotional/motivational message with the team. We have the blessing of having free reign to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in a school environment that’s usually hostile to its message.

  • Mercy Mall is a FREE clothing, housewares, and baby boutique serving individuals and families overcoming obstacles to stability. Their mission is to serve the hungry, the homeless and the hurting by filling practical needs, providing resources and building relationships. Here are ways you can serve...

Strategic Pick Ups: Host a drive at church and we come and pick up the items in the truck! This is a great way to receive a large # of items critically needed at Mercy Mall.

Delivery Team: This is increasingly coming up as a need! There are areas that some people won't and shouldn't go into... especially alone. Men accompanied groups can help deliver items and offer to pray with people when they go.

Work after hours: Serve on a specified Tuesday evening in the building to work on projects, pack orders, pack suitcases for cases of hope, cleaning the building, receiving clients that need an evening appointment pickup, and other things that come up.

  • Work: Most of these projects include: painting, floor tile work, bathroom upgrades, sound booth, electrical upgrades, suspended ceiling, new kitchen cabinets and other work. You do not have to be talented, you just need a serving heart for these projects.

Cost: These projects are basically FREE, but may need some funds to buy snacks on the trip to the project site and dinner on our return trip home, otherwise all food is provided at the job site.

Bring: For the Extreme Church Makeover (ECM) projects, they are overnight trips. Your own sleeping bag / cot / air mattress, toiletry, medications, towel, change of clothes, Bible and devotional. A small flashlight comes in handy, possibly ear plugs (it can get noisy at night) and a bag of your small tools if you’d like. Most important, a Serving Heart.
